After quite the suspense for fans and media outlets alike, Lionsgate has chosen Francis Lawrence as the director of Catching Fire, the next part of The Hunger Games trilogy. Lawrence was the director of "I Am Legend" and "Water for Elephants". Lionsgate had narrowed down the list of contenders to Lawrence and Bennett Miller, and both met with Lionsgate executives this Thursday. If Lawrence accepts the official offer Lionsgate gives him, he will replace Gary Ross.

  1. FireCatcher
Well, I've never watched "Water for Elephants" but "I Am Legend" shows us that the guy has some intimacy with destruction and survival issues, for instance. So, all we can do now is hope for the best!
