Hey guys I am new to this site and I really wanted to share a fan film some friends and myself made. I didn't really know where I could post this, so I decided to do it here. Please check it out and tell me what you think. I love comments and I really like constructive criticism. Thanks Here is the link to the video\/\/\/
This is definitely cool... I'd love to talk to you about some different aspects of it. Is this you in the film? What character are you wishing to portray?
POSITIVES: 1. The old abandoned house is perfect. 2. The music is fitting, most of the time. 3. The nature setting is absolutely beautiful and very much reminds me of the arena in the real HG movie. 4. The brown haired, district 8 boy is SPOT ON. Whoever that is, who ever cast that boy did a fantastic job. 5. I loved the death scene. Gory, but not too much blood. Sentimental in a way, but not overbearing because that was the whole point. Sometimes you have to kill and move on. Good job! 6. I thought the sponsor gift scene was really cool and very well shot. NEGATIVES: 1. I didn't think the music fit very well during the very first "scene". 2. The clothes are very unrealistic. It's not that they looked bad at all. They didn't really fit in with the essence of THG. Designer jeans, nike shoes, and revealed boxers kinda through off the characters true, physical appearance. 3. I didn't like the cannon shot sound. Didn't sound different than a gun shot. 4. I wish it were longer! The part where the tree that the District 8 boy was in blew up, I would have liked to know more about what you wanted to happen there. Also, I saw that if you got enough comments you would make it longer... I would love to see that and hopefully you could introduce some more characters! COMMENTS: 1. It is not clear who the blond character is. Is it supposed to be Peeta or Cato? If it was your intentions to make the character generic... then bravo 2. Just a suggestion: Could you have given the blond boy a better weapon? He seemed very weak and sort of incompetent with his club. It set him up to loose from the start. 3. This looks like a junior version of a scene right out of The Hunger Games. However, which scene? Is it supposed to be something true from the book or the movie? In both, the boy from District 8 is killed in the bloodbath at the cornucopia in the very first fighting scene, as soon as they leave their launch pads. But I totally understand taking artistic liberties to make the scenes fit what you had. I still really liked the video a lot overall. Congratulations!
